Dutch Weave
Screens are normally supplied in DOUBLE CRIMP (Plain Weave) Construcon. Wires are Crimped evenly in both directions and sprung together by the weaving process to provide a rigid mesh used for most normal applicaons.
Corrugated Crimp
CORRUGATED OR DOUBLE INTERMEDIATE CRIMP screens have additional crimps in both wraps and we directions between the intersections. This type of weave is used to achieve a rigid mesh where the aperture size is large in relation to the wire diameter.
Lock Mesh
CORRUGATED OR DOUBLE INTERMEDIATE CRIMP screens have additional crimps in both wraps and we directions between the intersections. This type of weave is used to achieve a rigid mesh where the aperture size is large in relation to the wire diameter.
Piano Wire Screen
REPS, SINGLE (PLAIN) WEAVE SPW also called CORDUROY, DUTCH or Basket Weave. The we wires are woven as closely together as possible so as to obtain a “Zero Mesh”
Piano Wire Types
End tensioned – Use in most mobile screening plants
Side tensioned – Used in place of standard side tension applications
Hook Orientaon
Piano wire screens have hooks orientated in either type 3 or 4. Type 3, see below is the most common for end tension piano wire mobile screening plants.
Aperture - Gauge - 0% open space Screening Rate - Screen Life
6 mm aperture 6mm dia
25% open space
6 mm aperture 4mm dia
37% open space
6 mm aperture 3mm dia
44% open space
Working Life & Screening Efficiency of Mesh
As we can see in the picture for the same 6MM aperture using 6MM wire the screening would be less as compared to 4MM dia wire and 3MM dia wire.
But when we talk about the life it will be more of the 6MM wire dia as compared to 4MM dia and 3MM dia.
